I want to use a film leader in my music video whilst
there is just instrumental music on and the lyrics haven’t started. Film
leaders were popular in the 1950’s to mid-60’s and this fits in with the
iconography of my music video. The era I am setting my music video in is going
to be in the 1950’s therefore my image of my artist and all the elements in
mise-en-scene from costume to props will connote the 1950’s time scale. This
also works well as it was used before a film starts and in my music video I am
focusing on the narrative so it will interprets a movie from this time. In
editing a special effect that I am wanting to use is the black and white effect
which again will visual will look like a 50’s film. This is from www.YouTube.com and this is a popular website in today's society that people use to get access to music videos.

Locations
House, Kitchen, Bedroom- this is where my artist will be miming and performing the narrative of her living alone without her husband.
Large ship- this connotes the artist’s lover’s job sector
in the navy.
Black ship- this location is in my area and would be more
of an easy access for me to film.
Car- this would link to my lyric’s ‘ cruising down the
coast going bout 99’.

Costume and Hair Style Ideas Mood Boards
From researching these costume and hair style images from
www.Google.com helped me to identify the 1950's 'look' and style. The hair
style shows that it is usually curled with a hair piece, and I am planning on
using a hair piece like a hair net. It shows that they wear red lipstick and
have cat shaped sun glasses. The clothing is a bright solid colour or has a
pattern for example dots is popular in the 50’s. The foot wear is heels which
has just a small heel. The skirts were below the knee and went either straight
down or had volume to the sides. All these points I have highlighted from these
images are what I am going to made my artist’s image style like.
